We’re in our first full week of spring. Though snow’s still sporadic around here, it certainly isn’t staying around for long. Before we know it, schools will be letting out for the summer. But though the weather getting warmer provided plenty of time for outdoor activities, it’s also important to be mindful that it can bring dangers as well, particularly when it comes to fire. As the heat dries out our lawns and fields, they become easily combustible and in an instant a small flame can become a raging blaze. While we can’t always prevent f...
After asking around amongst friends and acquaintances, it appears that April 1st is not a common or even uncommon date upon which to celebrate Easter. The irony of having the greatest day of Christianity on April Fools Day is not lost on skeptics who take great pleasure in pointing out that irony to the discomfort to those of us who value to the utmost the person and position of Jesus Christ. Churches around the world will be crowded, though less so than I remember as a child, with "once a year" visitors who recognize the preeminence of the cen...

Regina Schulmeister, a trooper with the Wyoming Highway Patrol, has recently noticed a trend in what people have been using as intoxicants. A curious person by nature, Schulmeister stated, “I picked a career where it comes in quite handy. I am a State Trooper and have been in Law Enforcement for over 25 years. Sometime ago, I began asking my passengers how everything started for them. My passengers, of course, are en route to jail and more often than not, their charges are related to the use and misuse of alcohol and drugs.” What she found out...
