The Hot Springs County High School Speech and Debate Team's successful season came to an exciting end with a runner-up finish in 1A/2A at the Wyoming Speech and Debate Tournament at Laramie County Community College in Cheyenne on March 7th, 8th, and 9th. The recent lawsuit against the Boys’ School is a blow to youth welfare in our state and cruel, destructive slander against some of our neighbors, in my opinion. As a former employee at WBS, I saw firsthand how dedicated WBS staff are to helping young men. Linda Louise Coleman passed away on February 25, 2024, surrounded by her family after an eight-year battle with Wegener’s Granulomatosis disease. Linda was born in Caldwell, Idaho, on November 14, 1941, to Harvey and Louise (Kelly) Weeks. Her family moved to Bairoil, Wyo., before settling in Thermopiles, Wyo. Linda attended school in Thermopiles and later attended college at Casper College. During this time, she met and married the father of her three daughters, the late Micky Ford, who later divorced. Mabel Bulman, 73, passed away February 28, 2024, at Hot Springs Health after a period of declining health. One of six children of Clifford and Mabel (Coleman) Murrain, she was born September 17, 1950, in Worland, Wyo. Known as “Dolly”, she lived in the Thermopolis area most of her life. An avid seamstress, she often quilted projects for Christmas and birthday gifts. She enjoyed family history. The Thermopolis Wrestling Club (TWC) hosted Wrestle-opolis last Saturday in the Hot Springs County High School gym. The tournament brought 562 kids from clubs throughout Wyoming to compete here. TWC had 71 kids wrestle in the folkstyle on Saturday and earned first place as a team scoring 950.5 total team points, outpacing second place Casper Wrestling Club by 191 points.
