    Meet a guest to our little town who has seen more in his 22 years traveling than some have seen in a lifetime. His name is Gil, he is a freight rider and has been doing so for those 22 years. Freight riders are homeless people who use the railroad system to travel around, sometimes found sleeping in switching yards, boxcars or bridge underpasses.   • Luce fundraiser set for Saturday

    An Irish Evening with Spencer is set for Saturday, March 5 beginning at 6 p.m. at the Hot Springs County Fair Building. All proceeds from the event will go toward helping with expenses incurred after Spencer Luce was injured after being hit by a car on Dec. 9 while walking at the intersection of North Sixth and Big Horn. His leg was badly broken and he is wheel chair-bound doing follow up care hoping to be able to walk again.     A Wyoming veterans service officer from the Wyoming Veterans Commission will be in Thermopolis Thursday, March 10 at the Hot Springs County Museum from noon-3 p.m. Brad Cline is available to meet with veterans and their families to discuss state and federal veterans' benefits, Department of Veterans Affairs claims, or VA healthcare.     4-H Junior Leader Kaitlyn Schmuck carries around and shows off a basket full of goodies that was up for auction Saturday. The Hot Springs County 4-H held their third annual Free Chili Dinner and Dessert Auction. The event started with a dinner that featured chili, regular and green, as well as chicken noodle and potato soups. The dinner was followed by a dessert auction, silent and live, where attendees bid on yummy baked goods to finish off their meal. The desserts ranged from fancy baskets...
