Thursday and Friday Bobcat wrestlers proved the sports adage that the scoreboard doesn’t always tell the whole story of any contest. Visiting Worland on Thursday, the Bobcats spotted the Warriors 18 points in forfeits and the scoreboard said Worland 40, Thermopolis 30. Friday saw a similar result against the Glenrock Herders. The Thermopolis Bobcat Speech and Debate team had a stellar weekend at the Jackson Invitational, coming home with first place in 1A-2A. Along with their first place trophy, the team brought home eight individual awards. Junior Hannah Hu took first place with her original oratory as well as fourth place with her informative. Hot Springs Dance LLC is hosting a father/daughter and mother/son dance at the Community Hall at 244 North Sixth on Friday, Feb. 15 from 5-8 p.m. The cost for the dance is $10 per couple and $5 per each additional child. This includes corsages for the girls, a professional photo, dinner and dessert, as well as dancing with a professional DJ. Attire for the dance is formal/semi formal. Wyoming has had quite a year with its grizzly population and the on-again, off-again management hunt. On Feb. 4th the High School Jazz Band, also known as The Jazz Cat Big Band performed at the Kinser Jazz Festival at Casper College. The band had two clinics after their performance with Dr. Scott Turpen from the University of Wyoming and Dr. Lynn Baker from the Lamont School of Music at Denver University.
