The Town of Thermopolis has announced that the new flag pole recently installed downtown at the intersection of 5th and Broadway Streets was damaged during installation by the contractor. The original flag pole was damaged during a wind event in 2024. The new flag pole was installed in January. William Edward Bolton was born on April 7, 1936, in Chicago, Ill., to William B. Bolton and Barbara (Harmon) Bolton. Helen Patrice Milek, born to Glen and Jean Eisele (née Cook) on August 9, 1958, in Buffalo, Wyo., passed away peacefully on February 3, 2025, at her home in Lander, Wyo., surrounded by her loving family. The Hot Springs County High School wrestling teams had a full schedule last week, despite the teams being hit hard by illness that has been going around the school. Following a dual on Thursday night in Powell, and a dual on Friday night against Moorcroft in Greybull, the teams then competed in the Greybull Tournament on Saturday. The Hot Springs Speech and Debate Team captured the 1A/2A Champion at the Big Horn Speech and Debate Tournament held at Big Horn High School on January 31-February 1, 2025. The Bobcats brought 15 students to compete in the tournament that hosted 10 schools including large teams from South Dakota. Hot Springs County High School senior, Kaylee Bazzle, has been a member of the Bobcat Cheer Squad since her freshman year.
