The Hot Springs Country Recreation District is opening registration for its Start Smart Sports Program. It is offered to all kids ages three to five years old for basketball, soccer and baseball. This is a noncompetitive, one-on-one with the child’s parent, which focuses on developing fundamentals of each sport to teach the basics of each sport. The varsity Lady Bobcat basketball team split a pair of games last weekend, first in Buffalo on Friday and then in Big Piney on Saturday. Friday’s game against the Lady Buffs was a heartbreaker, losing a tough game 40-42. Wyoming’s unemployment rate remained unchanged during December at 3.7 percent according to the Wyoming Department of Workforce Services. Hot Springs County was one of only three counties in the state where unemployment actually rose, going from 3.7 percent to 4.0 percent.
