At the December 19 Hot Springs County School District #1 board meeting, during the public comments section, Bob Aguiar came to speak about academic statistics and transportation. Charles "Charlie" Clifford Ferree, of Thermopolis, passed away on December 25, 2023. He was born on June 28, 1964. Charlie was a man of many hobbies and trades; we never quite knew what was coming next. The latest being coyote calling, catching walleye with the grandkids, and tying flies. Hot Springs County Assessor Daniel Webber announced that currently qualified Hot Springs County veterans or their surviving spouse should contact the Assessor’s Office by telephone to renew their Veteran’s Exemption for 2024 on their property taxes. If the applicant will be using the exemption for vehicle licensing, they will need to stop by the Assessor’s Office when they come in the courthouse to renew their registration.
