The Bobcat Invitational Speech and Debate Tournament is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 12 at Hot Springs County High School. If you are interested in judging for the tournament, there will be a brief training on Monday, Dec. 7 in the auditorium at 7 p.m. The training will take approximately an hour and will give judges the tools they need to comfortably handle any event. A clothing drive is planned for Dec. 16 and 17 in the commons of Hot Springs County High School. The clothing drive has been set up for people to donate their clean, gently used clothing before Thursday, Dec. 10. On Dec. 16 and 17 anyone can come to the commons and pick out clothes for themselves from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. You can pick up clothing even if you have not donated clothes. The Thermopolis-Hot Springs Chamber of Commerce has a blessing tree located outside of their office located at 220 Park Street. Citizens wishing to place a blessing on the tree can stop by the office during regular business hours (Mon.-Sat. 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Sun. 10 a.m.-3 p.m.) to pick up a red tag. Then, simply write your blessing on the tag and place it on the tree. On December 24 at 10 a.m., blessings will be given for the tags located on the tree. The Hot Springs County High School’s Bobcat speech and debate team kicked off their season Nov. 2.
