There’s certainly been a buzz at the corner of Sixth and Park, as a former gas station has been transforming into the P6 Station Stone Fired Pizza Co. over the past few months. Last Saturday, the high school cross country team got to test their legs during the state preview meet in Afton. Coach Stephanie Metz said it was good to see the course. “It was everything that we’ve been told. Though still receiving invoices for advertising, Thermopolis-Hot Springs Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Meri Ann Rush said things were looking good as far as money from the 2019 Demolition Derby. “We’re looking fairly good,” Rush said. “We did budget to make $15,000. Monday afternoon in Hot Springs District Court, Tiffany Ringgenberg of Cody pleaded not guilty to felony charges of possession of methamphetamine and conspiracy to deliver meth. The charges carry with them a combined possible sentence of 27 years in prison and a $40,000 fine. Though no date is yet scheduled, trial is expected to take at least three days for Ringgenberg. During Sept. 4 meeting of the Hot Springs County Local Emergency Planning Committee, John Fish brought up concerns about what would happen if the bridge on Sixth Street spanning the river were to collapse. The bridge was downgraded from traffic to a footbridge in 1994, and Fish said the last inspection he could find record for was in 1992. Monday afternoon in Hot Springs District Court, Judge Bobbi Overfield sentenced Byron Huffstetler to three years of supervised probation on a charge of conspiracy to deliver a controlled substance. The charge stems from a Dec. 23, 2018 controlled buy incident, during which Huffstetler was found to have less then one gram of methamphetamine. It was a hard opening for the Thermopolis Bobcats as they fell 40-27 against Big Horn Friday night.
