    Last weekend the Hot Springs County High School Track and Field finished their season as 17 students - 10 girls and seven boys - competed at the State Championships in Casper. Both teams continued to set personal records, and Olivia Weyer's eighth place height of 9'0" in the pole vault was a new school record.     The Hot Springs County Recreation District’s Adult Co-Ed Softball League saw its first games on May 15, with The Team We Like The Most (TTWLTM) beating Robin Batsman 27-8.     Daniel L. Ford and Samantha V. Vandervort have been bound over to Hot Springs County District Court on charges against them. Among other counts, both are facing charges related to drugs.     One of the more popular recreational sports one can play is Pickleball. John Brooks describes the game as something like a smaller version of Tennis or an enlarged Ping Pong match.     During the regular monthly meeting of Hot Springs Travel and Tourism, Director Amanda Moeller reported they had received another high deposit of lodging tax receipts for the 2017-18 fiscal year. The May deposit was $12,890.73, compared to $7,913.54 this time last fiscal year. The deposit put the receipts for the fiscal year at five percent, or $8,460.29, higher than this time last year.     Monday in Hot Springs District Court, Holly Herrera was sentenced to three to five years in prison on each of three counts of child endangerment — exposure to methamphetamine — and one year on a charge of second-offense possession of methamphetamine.     The body of 66-year-old David E. Cathey was found at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday, May 3 in the Sand Draw area around Gebo.     Though Friday saw the final regular season meet for the Hot Springs County High School Track and Field team with the Bobcat Invite, it was the first meet in which Cullen Becher was able to compete, having been released to do so.     Tuesday evening at the Thermopolis Town Council meeting, Travel and Tourism Director Amanda Moeller presented a report on how Hot Springs County did in 2017. The county saw 88,000 overnight visitors, which was a bit down from the 97,000 the previous year, Moeller said, a surprise considering the eclipse.
