    Two teams are claiming the top 6-0 undefeated spots in the Hot Springs County Recreation District’s Adult Co-Ed Volleyball League. Owl Creek won 25-5, 25-7 and 25-4 against Lord Have MRSA on Wednesday, Sept. 18. In the same evening, Gassed by Gottsche also won against the MRSA team, 25-8, 25-6 and 25-8.     The Thermopolis cross country team had a strong showing at their Bobcat Invite last Saturday, with McKenna Bomengen taking first place more than a full minute ahead of her nearest competitor.     Thermopolis Middle School Football came home with a 34-14 win against Worland on Thursday, Sept. 19. Coach Shane Corpening was excited about the win, and noted Will Coale did a great job.     Though still receiving invoices for advertising, Thermopolis-Hot Springs Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Meri Ann Rush said things were looking good as far as money from the 2019 Demolition Derby. “We’re looking fairly good,” Rush said. “We did budget to make $15,000.     Monday afternoon in Hot Springs District Court, Tiffany Ringgenberg of Cody pleaded not guilty to felony charges of possession of methamphetamine and conspiracy to deliver meth. The charges carry with them a combined possible sentence of 27 years in prison and a $40,000 fine. Though no date is yet scheduled, trial is expected to take at least three days for Ringgenberg. However, she is only one of three subjects arrested July 22 in a meth bust involving over 91 grams of the drug. Though...

    During Sept. 4 meeting of the Hot Springs County Local Emergency Planning Committee, John Fish brought up concerns about what would happen if the bridge on Sixth Street spanning the river were to collapse. The bridge was downgraded from traffic to a footbridge in 1994, and Fish said the last inspection he could find record for was in 1992.     Monday afternoon in Hot Springs District Court, Judge Bobbi Overfield sentenced Byron Huffstetler to three years of supervised probation on a charge of conspiracy to deliver a controlled substance. The charge stems from a Dec. 23, 2018 controlled buy incident, during which Huffstetler was found to have less then one gram of methamphetamine.
