Monday afternoon in Hot Springs District Court, Kimberly Sams was sentenced to a total 7-13 years at the Wyoming Women’s Center on charges from two cases. Sams entered a plea agreement earlier this year, in which she would plead guilty to five felony counts of misrepresentation for public welfare benefits occurring between Oct. 1, 2012, and May 21, 2015. Monday in Hot Springs District Court, Adam Maggos and Michael Guzman pleaded not guilty to charges against them stemming from two different drug busts. Guzman is charged with felony possession of methamphetamine, possession of meth with intent to deliver and conspiracy to deliver meth. The charges are from a July 22 bust involving more than 91 grams of meth. According to court documents, Guzman travelled to Colorado to pick up the drug. Cross country runners took on a new type of event with the Cody Foxes and Hounds last Friday, though weather conditions were certainly less than ideal. During the September meeting of Hot Springs Travel and Tourism, the board approved a motion to work in partnership with the Thermopolis Independent Record for distribution of the visitor guide through Certified Folder. The motion essentially means that Travel and Tourism will no longer put out a visitor guide of its own.
