Born in Great Falls, Mont., in 1958, George Kelly graduated from Charles M. Russell high school - whose teams were known as the Rustlers - in 1977. Thermopolis was home to the Five Rivers Conference Meet last Friday, and the runners really showed they knew their home course. Three of our girls placed in the top 10, and all placed in the top 25. All-Conference honors were awarded to top 10 placers Tahja Hunt, McKenna Bomengen and Hallie Martinez, and the girls team placed second behind Wyoming Indian. Wyoming Game and Fish recently conducted its electrofishing, launching from Wedding of the Waters. Through the process, small electrodes are dropped in the water to create a mild electric current. This causes involuntary muscle contractions to make the fish easier to net. Electrofishing provides Game and Fish with an idea of how river fish populations are faring. The second annual Wyoming Singer Songwriter Competition has concluded with a Thermopolis resident winning the title of overall champion. After a 27-year career Hot Springs County Jail Administrator Beth Price will bid farewell, with her official last day on Nov. 6. Price moved to Thermopolis from Grand Junction, Colorado in 1975.
