    Tuesday afternoon, the Travel and Tourism Board approved the final budget for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2016. The budget comes in at $220,120, which includes revenue of $55,000 for a beginning balance, $165,000 from the Lodging Tax and $120 income interest.     The period for early voting, as well as to pick up absentee ballots for the primary election officially opened July 7, just over five weeks ahead of the primary election on Aug. 16.     The past week saw an average of a fire every day for the Thermopolis Volunteer Fire Department. Hot Springs County Fire District Chief Mark Collins said it has been a crazy week, and he hopes it mellows out for a while.     On Thursday, June 30, law enforcement agencies worked together to end a pursuit involving high speeds on a stolen motorcycle. According to an affidavit, Trooper Hoffman of the Wyoming Highway Patrol (WHP) was at mile marker 5 on Highway 120 and observed a motorcycle with a male driver and a female passenger eastbound, going 95 miles per hour in a 70 mph zone.     The heat has dried up grasses in the area so much they make for easy kindling, and while human carelessness with fire and flammable materials can certainly cause some scorched acreage, thunderstorms can be just as dangerous.
