    The JV and freshmen basketball teams struggled to find wins this past week at home against Rawlins Friday and on the road at Douglas Saturday. The JV team lost 51-32 to Rawlins and 49-33 to Douglas, while the freshmen team lost 56-33 to Rawlins and 52-36 to Douglas.     Work that began a few months back at the Hot Springs County Senior Center is nearing completion. Flooring which better matches the beams along the center's walls and ceilings was recently installed, and Executive Director Chanda Waddell said that is the end for the contractor work.     On March 16, 2016, two-year-old Brenna Michelle Rankin passed away at her home after a battle with cancer. Next month, a banquet will help raise money for a scholarship in her name.     Recently opening its doors at 215 South Fifth is Grandma’s Secondhand Palace. The store came into being after a benefit yard sale. Owner Kathy Najar explained her son, Shawn Goodman, was injured in September while he was cutting wood for personal use in the Bighorn Mountains.     This weekend was a struggle for Thermopolis High School Boys Basketball, as they came away with losses to Lander, 68-41, and Lovell, 69-43. Coach Kevin Gerber said Lander came out as a real “run-and-gun, shoot ‘em up type team.
