The Lady Cats wrestlers had two meets last week, beginning on Thursday night, at home for a Dual with Glenrock, and then moving on to the Clash at the Crossroads Tournament in Shoshoni on Friday/Saturday. Last weekend, the Hot Springs County High School, Lady Cats Basketball team, hosted their second tournament in as many weeks. With twelve teams in competition, the Big Horn Classic was played in Thermopolis, and in Worland. On Friday, January 17 the Lady Cats first saw the JV team from Cody. In a close game, the Cody Broncs were victorious – winning by a score of 44 to 36. Last weekend, the Hot Springs County High School Lady Cats Basketball Team hosted the first of two, back-to-back, tournaments. Each team had four scheduled games over the two-day event, and with 16 teams competing, the action was dispersed between the schools in Thermopolis and Shoshoni. The Hot Springs County High School Bobcat Wrestling Team was in Douglas last weekend for the annual Shane Shatto Memorial Invitational Tournament. The event is always a big draw for teams to show off their skills, and this year was no exception. Thirty five teams from four states competed in one of the toughest tournaments of the year. The boys side of the 2A East/West Smackdown was played last week-end in Wright and Sundance. The Bobcats played two games at Wright High School on Friday, and then traveled to Sundance for two additional games. Sixteen very good teams came to compete in the two-day event. The Lady Cats Wrestlers traveled to Douglas last weekend to compete at the annual Shane Shatto Memorial Tournament. Thirty schools from four states were represented at the event. The Wyoming Coaches Association have announced the winners of the fall sports season Coach of the Year awards. The prestigious awards go to those coaches who have demonstrated outstanding leadership and determination in their individual sports. For the sixth time, in as many years, Hot Springs County High School Golf Coach, Brandon Deromedi, was again named as “Coach of the Year” for the Fall 2A Boys Golf Season. After opening their season with a win against the 3A Lander Tigers on Friday, December 13, the Hot Springs County High School Bobcats headed down to the south-west corner of the state last weekend, to compete in the Flaming Gorge Classic, at Rock Springs and Green River. Coming off a spectacular showing at the Powell Invite the preceding week, the Hot Springs County High School Bobcats were in Worland last weekend, to compete at the Battle in the Big Horns Tournament. On Thursday, December 5, the Thermopolis Middle School Eighth Grade "A" Team played their final game of the regular season. The contest was held at the TMS gym, and was well attended by the faithful Thermopolis fans.
