  • Pride in our talented Bobcats

    Cindy Glasson, Reporter Photographer|Dec 7, 2017

I am perpetually amazed at the talent that abounds in the children of Thermopolis. Not just amazed, but incredibly proud, too. All you have to do is attend a concert or a play or dance performance and you’ll know what I mean. Take our Drama Club, for example. These kids went to the state competition in Casper last weekend and rocked the boards. Not only did they present the best proscenium performance in the state, they brought home a majority of the All State titles, too. Reminds me of the i...

Tis the time of year when Clark W. Griswold comes out in all of us. That is, Christmas decorations abound both inside and out. There are, however, some safety tips you should be aware of that Clark obviously didn’t follow. When it comes to your lights, be sure to inspect each of the light strings, looking for frayed wires, broken bulbs and loose connections. If you happen to find any of these problems, it is suggested you throw those strings out and replace them. When doing your outdoor decorati...

  • Be thankful on Thanksgiving

    Cindy Glasson, Reporter Photographer|Nov 23, 2017

There are certain times of the year when one reflects on the past, and for me, Thanksgiving is one of those times. I remember, as a kid growing up in Thermopolis, that our house was where the whole family gathered for dinner. Aunts, uncles and cousins, my grandparents and my mother and I, all sitting together in the dining room, spilling over into the living room. Grandma was always up at the crack of dawn making her homemade dinner rolls and cinnamon rolls and getting the big bird in the oven....

When the white stuff finally arrives, the first question is usually about snow removal. When will it start and what roads get cleared first? Thermopolis and the county actually have two entities that work on keeping our roads clear, starting with keeping Win...

    Cindy Glasson, Reporter Photographer|Nov 16, 2017

If you've driven down Sixth Street lately, you're sure to have seen all the changes going on along the east side of the street. One of those changes is the opening of Jay's Sandwich Shop in the former Blimpie's building. AJ Magelky opened Jay's after deciding it was time to go out on his own and this sounded like a good adventure. "Of course, I'm wondering what I was thinking, now," he laughed. "Eighty hours a week. I'm a little tired." That doesn't stop Magelky from arriving early each morning...
